A 72-year-old woman died in Latehar district’s Mahuadanr after two days. The woman, identified as Devmani Devi of Orsa Path village in Mahuadanr. Covid-19 vaccination
She was given the jab on March 21 and members of the family said that she went unconscious in the night. On March 23 she died at RIMS (Rajendra Institute of Medical Science) Ranchi during treatment within the week hours.
District administration and Latehaar Deputy Commissioner Abu Imran stated “The woman was vaccinated by Covishield and two days later she died. According to the institute report, she had hypertension and cardiovascular issues. I don’t think the lady died because of the complication arising out of the vaccination”
The post mortem wasn’t conducted to grasp the precise reason behind death. DC Imran said that it was because the members of the family had relied on the RIMS report assuming it to be the evidence of death and didn’t ‘allow’ the administration to require the body for postmortem.
The members of the family shared a RIMS report which mentioned the provisional reason behind death as “Hemorrhagic Stroke”
Devi’s grandson Ranbir Yadav, alleged that her grandmother was constantly ‘pressured’ by local medical staff to urge vaccinated as an alternative her ration or pension would be withheld.
Ranbir said “One day I used to be not there when the local Sahiya took her for vaccination. On an identical day on March 21, she went unconscious at 11 pm after which we rushed to the CHC, but couldn’t found the most doctor”
He added “Next day we rushed to Latehar Sadar Hospital where we got an ambulance to RIMS Ranchi. She was admitted there and died each day presently March 23”
“Three years ago her Blood pressure levels had increased and that we had put her on medication, later she had discontinued. However, she never complained of any ailment and she does household chores every day”, Ranbir stated. Covid-19 vaccination
